ランダム化比較評価手法に関する勉強会、初回が行われました！

4/21(木) 20時より、ZOOMにてランダム化比較評価手法に関する勉強会（Designing and Running Randomized Evaluations に関する勉強会）が行われました。

この勉強会では、RCT(Randomized Controlled Trial) を途上国の現場で活用する方法について学びます！

MITのオンライン講義ビデオを用いて、英語で学んでいきます。

ファシリテーターは、途上国及び米国でRCTを活用している実務家のため、大学の授業だけでは得られない、実践的な知識を学べる勉強会となっております。

第１回には１１名（うち留学生３名）が参加しました。初回のため、講義内容に少ししか触れることはできませんでしたが、多様なバックグラウンドを持つメンバーと、経験豊富なファシリテーターとともに学ぶのが楽しみになりました！

以下、メンバーからの感想をいくつかご紹介いたします。

今日の勉強会で新たに学んだことはありましたか？/ Have you learned something new from today's meeting?

「RCTを含むDEDP分野のオンラインコースが開講されていることを知ることができました。また、ビデオ内のDuflo教授の著書の訳書をたまたま読んでいたことを思い出したので、改めて読み返そうと思いました。」

「政策がevidenceだけでなく、様々なことに基づいて作られているのが知れたのと同時に、政策を客観的な情報を用いて作成し、評価する必要性を改めて感じました。」

“Sorry for the late reply of this survey.

Thank you for today's meeting! I think the biggest gain is that I now know the RCT is being used in such a board and various way. Before, I thought this is only used in the political and economic field, but today, I heard the two facilitators shared their wonderful experiences made me realized that I thought of it too narrowly. Actually, the RCT is being used much more often than I expected.”

“I have learned RCT and evidence based practice (or medicine) in my psychology class, so it was quite interesting to know that how policy making can be connected to RCT. I am looking forward to the next meeting!”

「純粋にですが、英語でのDiscussionが久々だったので、少し面喰いましたが、新鮮でした。次回以降、より貢献していきたいと思いました。」

「私が大学院で勉強したいことだったので、大学院の授業よりも政策評価やRCTに特化して学べそうで今後がとても楽しみです。デュフロが動画に出てきて少し興奮しました。」

“It's very interesting to know that policymakers are inertia to make improvement on policies, since it involves huge cost and efforts.”

「なぜ政策が必要か考えたり、他分野の人の意見を聞けたこと」

「初回なのでまだ学習内容については深められていませんが、前回のスタディグループより人数が増えてて面白いなと思った一方でおいて行かれないよう頑張らなきゃと刺激になりました。」

上記二つの項目以外にも...

“I think this study group is definitely worth to join even without earning a credit, gave me a chance to gain knowledge that is not taught in registered courses. Only one and a half hour within one week in this group made my horizon even broader.”
